STEM Sisters


Mission

The North Museum STEM Sisters program inspires, empowers, and ignites young women’s passion for STEM* careers.

Through engaging programs and activities, the STEM Sisters program offers young girls an opportunity to meet undergraduate and professional women in STEM fields and discover new potential career paths. The program’s ongoing events encourage and empower young women. All STEM Sisters events are provided at no cost to local girls in grades 6–12.

Launch Party     Oct. 15, 2017    2-4 pm    6-12 Grade

Celebrate the start of the 2017-2018 STEM Sisters programming year at the STEM Sisters Launch Party.  Girls in grades 6-12, their parents/guardians, and female STEM professionals are welcome to join us in the unveiling of new program opportunities and the discovery of STEM all around us in Lancaster!



Full STEAM Ahead     Nov. 16, 2017    5-7:30 pm    High School
High school level STEM Sisters engage with professionals in a variety of STEM fields. Breakout sessions will focus on practical professional path questions, while round table discussions encourage dialogue on specific and relevant issues.


Winter Meet Up Jan. 17, 2018 5:30-8:30 pm 6-12 Grade

The STEM Sisters Winter Meetup event is an opportunity for current and new STEM Sisters (girls in grades 6-12) to connect with other STEM girls to engage in fun, hands-on STEM activities provided by the North Museum and STEM Sisters’ community partners!


Curiosity Quest May 16, 2017 5:30-8:30 pm Middle School

Focusing on STEM Sisters at the Middle school level, the STEM Sisters Curiosity Quest is a time of discovery. This event is designed to engage girls with fun, hands-on STEM activities to unleash their creativity.

Registration for the North Museum’s STEM Sister program is open to girls attending Lancaster County schools in grades 6-12.
