Summer Camp

The Science of Biology. GSK Science in the Summer™ Camps

For students entering Grades 2 – 6

In 2022, GSK Science in the Summer™ students at sites across the country will learn about the Science of Biology. GSK Science in the Summer™ is a science education program that helps elementary school children “grow into science.” Through classes held in public schools, museums and other community-based organizations, the program gets kids excited about learning science with hands-on experiments. The GSK Science in the Summer™ National Program is sponsored by GSK and administered by The Franklin Institute, a global leader in science education.
In partnership GSK Science in the Summer™ , the Franklin Institute and the North Museum of Nature and Science is providing a FREE summer science camp, “Be a Biologist”, in the Summer of 2022, for students entering Grades 2 – 6 at the North Museum of Nature and Science. Six half day camps are available to choose from:

  • June 27 – July 1 from 9am – Noon or 1:00pm-4:00pm
  • July 18 – July 22 from 9am – Noon or 1:00pm-4:00pm
  • August 1 – August 5 from 9am – Noon or 1:00pm-4:00pm

Campers will explore plants and wildlife biology and act like a fisheries biologist and then a Paleobiologist at this day camp offered in person at the North Museum. In addition to the Be biologist curriculum campers will get to explore the live animal room at the museum, discover plant species during their nature walks and explore the beyond in the Planetarium! This hands-on biology camp is facilitated by North Museum educators.
