Planetarium audiences can travel the universe in extreme definition. Viewers are surrounded by our movie-like shows that make you feel like you’re a part of the action. Get the sensation of flying over Earth or cruising through the cosmos. When you travel the far reaches of the Milky Way Galaxy, you’ll see the universe in a whole new light.

With a rotating schedule and a variety shows produced for both kids and adults, there is always a new experience for explorers of all ages.

SEASON OF LIGHT

Saturdays at 11am and 2pm
Sundays at 11am and 2pm

Length: 30 Minutes

This planetarium show traces the history and development of many of the world’s most endearing holiday customs, all of which involve lighting up the winter season — from the burning Yule log, sparkling Christmas tree lights and candles in windows, to the lighting of luminarias in the American Southwest and the traditional ritual of the Hanukkah Menorah.

Join Sesame Street‘s Big Bird and Elmo as they explore the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, a Muppet from the Chinese co-production of Sesame Street. Together, they take an imaginary trip from Sesame Street to the starry night sky of constellations and to the moon, where they discover how different it is from Earth.

Join the North Museum’s Astronomy Educators to explore the wonders of the night sky in our live planetarium show, Night Sky Tour! Witness the night sky come to life as you learn about the constellations among the stars, planets currently visible, our place in the cosmos, and more! Each of our Planetarium Educators will bring their own expertise to the Night Sky Tour program, making each show a different experience.
