Where: Millport Conservancy, Lititz, PA. Just minutes from Lancaster—yet light-years away from skyglow!

The Perseid meteor shower is famous for producing up to 100 meteors per hour, including brilliant fireballs—flashes of light so bright they can rival Venus in the night sky. These “shooting stars” seem to originate from the constellation Perseus in the northeastern sky, and will be visible with the naked eye, even amidst some lunar light pollution.
What to Expect:
- A wide-open view of the night sky with minimal light pollution
- Naked-eye stargazing—binoculars welcome, but not needed
- Guided instruction from North Museum astronomy educators
- Mythology stories from the Perseus constellation
- Career advice for budding astronomers and STEM students
- Certificate of Completion and a great addition to your first resume!
Who Should Come:
Astronomy fans, families, friends, middle & high school students—anyone curious about the night sky.
What to Bring:
Blankets, camp chairs, warm drinks, and your curiosity! Binoculars are welcome but not necessary.

In the event of rain or a cloudy sky, the star party will be moved to the museum for a FREE live stream in the planetarium.
