Dear Friend of the North Museum,

“We see their eyes light up as they learn, even if we can’t see the smiles beneath their masks.”

It has been a challenging year for us all. However, beneath the extending shadow of COVID-19, the North Museum of Nature and Science has sought to keep the inquisitive flame burning with the rich delights of science in the minds of students who school here, or at home. We now ask you to join us in nurturing and maintaining in these local young people their vital thirst for knowledge, by pledging a gift to support our Pandemic Responsive Programming.

Developed and launched in late March to address the emerging educational needs of our community, the North Museum’s Pandemic Responsive Programming helps meet the needs of children who are using virtual learning models.  It also assists parents who are facing education and child-care needs as schools close their doors. As demand increases, the North Museum has a significant need for contributions in order to extend educational opportunities to more children, and families, facing complex challenges in 2021.

School @North Museum began in September, and is an on-site program facilitated by an experienced and certified teacher, combining cyber and in-person learning. Our students attend virtual classes provided by their own schools, and receive educational support which is supplemented with hands-on, experiential learning in and around the museum. Aleah Neely, is a fourth-grader from Price Elementary School in Lancaster, to whom we have provided a scholarship.
