STEM Sisters Event
The North Museum’s STEM Sisters program inspires, empowers, and ignites young women’s passions for careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). STEM Sisters offers young girls in grades 6—12 an opportunity to meet professional women in STEM careers through engaging programs, hands-on activities, and a variety of site visits.

Manisha Ahuja is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with Terracon having over 12 years’ of experience specifically with subsurface investigations and preparation of geotechnical report and technical specifications. Her experience also includes project planning, investigations and construction supervision. She is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Tennessee. Manisha received her Bachelors of Technology in Civil Engineering form the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra in India and a Masters in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Nevada- Las Vegas. Manisha also resides in eastern Pennsylvania with her husband and two sons.
Nisha Mohanan is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with Terracon having over 17 years’ experience working design and managing civil, geotechnical and geo-environmental consulting projects. She is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and Delaware. She has had three publications including one for the Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering. Nisha received her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka in India and a Masters in Geotechnical Engineering from Clemson University. She resides in eastern Pennsylvania with her husband and one son.
Marilyn Zenko is an archaeologist and Environmental Planner for Terracon with over 15 years’ of experience. Her role is to develop environmental planning programs including mentoring archaeologists, biologists, and planners in the AEC industry. A huge advocate for building the STEM pipeline, she serves as the STEM Chair for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), College Outreach Chair at the National level for SAME, serves as a community member for the Manheim Township School District Guidance Advisory Council, and facilitates the North Museum’s Preschool Picasso program as well as serving on the Board for the North Museum. Marilyn lives in Manheim Township where she is also an alum. She received her Bachelors in Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology from Millersville University. She did her field school through Arizona State University. She currently is a graduate student at Elizabethtown College pursuing a Masters in Strategic Leadership degree. Marilyn has three adult daughters. One daughter does environmental planning for Terracon, another daughter is geotechnical engineer, and the youngest daughter is a freshman at Millersville University.

STEM Sisters Orientation
The North Museum STEM Sisters program offers young girls in grades 6–12 an opportunity to meet professional women in STEM careers through engaging programs, hands-on activities, and a variety of site visits.
This year’s orientation will be held on Oct 19 from 6–8pm at North Museum. The evening will include fun activities, an introduction to the program, and exclusive after-hours access to the museum!
