Looking for a Fulfilling Volunteer Opportunity?
If you are searching for a great way to give back to your community and inspire youth, look into North Museum of Nature and Science. Our volunteers enjoy a wide variety of opportunities from developing new educational programs, to tending to our vast collections, to Sci-Dome (planetarium) presenter, to caring for our animals in our live animal room plus much, much more.
How Can You Help?
Adults, retirees and students, age 15 and up serve in a variety of capacities including Museum Guide, Sci-Dome (Planetarium) presenter and operator, front desk, graphic design assistant, Photographer/Videographer, STEM Sisters, live animal room associate, educational programs, educational outreach, fundraising, exhibit and collections assistant and special event associate.

Museum Volunteer Expectations
- Be reliable in attendance and punctual
- Abide by Museum policies
- Attend training required for your volunteer position
- Collaborate with staff and other volunteers
- Be at least 15 years old
How Do You Become a North Museum Volunteer?
- Download and complete the volunteer application. A printed application may also be picked up at the front desk or mailed to you.

- Applicants 18 years or older are required to submit a PA Criminal Record Check certificate and PA Child Abuse History Certification certificate dated within the past 5 years
- Upon receiving your completed application, you will be called in for a brief interview and tour of the Museum where you will discuss volunteer opportunities with staff.
